The Knights of Columbus Hockey Challenge is open to all boys and girls in your community, between the ages of 10-14. Age eligibility is determined by the age of the contestant as of the month the competition is run. Paperwork that determines age eligibility of participants should not be collected or copied.
All challengers are registered using the official Knights of Columbus Hockey Challenge entry form/score sheet provided during shootouts. Registration forms must be filled out and presented to the event official when competing. All entry form/score sheets must be provided to your local Knights of Columbus council throughout all levels of competition. Finalist winners will progress into the championship competition. Finalists unable to attend the championship event must immediately inform their sponsoring association and cede registration to it's alternate finalist(s).
Each participating youth hockey association should complete individual rounds and can register 1 boy & 1 girl finalist and (1) one alternate finalist for each age group to participate in their district competitions.
The finalists of each district will advance to the challenge Championships held March 27th and 28th in Fargo, ND. One challenger from each sponsoring district will compete for the title of 2026 Knights of Columbus Shot Challenge Champion.
Finalists will receive participation certificates for their competition through the finalist rounds.
Awards will be provided at the Championship levels.
The competition is designed for players ages 10 to 14 to demonstrate the most important skill in hockey — shooting accuracy on goal. Each player will be allowed a limited number of shots, 12 feet away from either side.
